I don't care for the 8.8 axle and bearing design. The 9" is better but the 8.8 will work.

4R70w should at least be rebuilt if used with the 460. At minimum, upgrade to the mechanical diode clutch...

Not a fan of a high idle? I guess it's easier on the transmission if it's an automatic and you don't wan to wait around for the fast idle cam to be completely off.

Synthetic oil has a considerably larger range. Conventional oil has come a long way in 48 years and probably has a larger temperature range now.

I wasn't aware of 5/20 or even 5/30 oil before the 90's but I wasn't using or searching it out back then either.
