Overdrive is needed for 400+ PMD and 70 mph higways. How you get OD will be the decisions made. Highway 2.56:1 posi rear gear is also a choice.

SAE papers were written in the 50's to address sleeve bearing babbit corrosion. Oil additives were developed to solve that corrosion. ....and now such corrosion is back. Wow.

We had a 70 400 GTO with the 2.54:1 POSI. Really fun thru 2nd and highway. 1900 rpm at highway speed was the best. MPG was 20 or so.

Pro-tip; use 90's Towncar's radiator hose clamp...

Pro-tip; use 90's Towncar's radiator hose clamp (a 2-tab spread hard steel) on the GTO upper Hose for grest results. no adj needed.

Don't remember if i tested an Accell 4-pin module. Had 1 before but don't recall a memorable test finding. Had the Accell HEI coil (and tested that) and it was fine.
