Suspension/A-arm location differences. IIRC, even the stock HO and log manifolds are vehicle specific due to headpipe location and downpipe fitment issues. They don't change over.

Mine's been on there for decades. But I haven't put on many miles ('65 GTO). On a regular driver, for me, 30,000 miles is about right.
