Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't compressor lifespan depend on what type of compressor it is? Wouldn't the size of the pulley also play a role in it's survival?

I always get a laugh when weight savings are brought up when it comes to the column shift. The console itself you can pick up with your pinky, and the actual floor shifter itself weighs nothing.
