They are now 11 years old. Diamondback flipped. them and then vulcanized the red line on them.

I had a similar experience a long time ago with my tripower. I bought the Phenolic spacer kit for the carbs from John@Pontiactripower.com. Problem went away.

In my 65 GTO shop manual, The rear brake assembly picture is calling the shorter shoe the secondary shoe and longer shoe the primary shoe. Is that correct??
It shows the Parking brake lever...
