WD(Bill) Creech
Bill Passed away December 19.
His 64 GTO was among the fastest Pontiacs on this site, running 8.2’s with the big engine and 9.0’s with the 474. He raced just to beat the Chevys. He was a great guy and we spent many hours talking Pontiacs. He had a 63 Lemans that was involved in an accident at the race track before the GTO. It started with a 389 and graduated to a 455, stock block. Stiffed frame then a back halved. He was embarrassed as to how the accident happened. The “T” handle came loose and could not be tightened at the right angle so he put a lock washer under it. He always shifted to neutral as he crossed the line. Well, when he put the washer on it raised the handle, slightly. So when he went to neural it went into reverse. The rest is history. Bill was in poor health the last 3-4 years and had lost his drive to race. Eventually the car with the small engine, Wenzler heads, the bigger block and everything else will be sold. It will be several months before anything can be done. I personally will miss him. He is where I my correct block for my T-37. Remember his family in prayer. There will be a memorial service February 3. |
Praying for strength and comfort, for all that were in his life!!!
