Aussie TA crash - poor bugger
|
Lets not say poor bugger till the truth behind this is revealed.
If he was "hooning", putting others in danger, then good riddance. Conversely, if this is an innocent event then indeed poor bugger. Sadly the media are right onto the scare factor. "A 7.4litre muscle car". The cops and the Government are always looking for a means to reduce our simple pleasure. 999 out of a 1000 drivers/owners of our hobby cars are responsible people. Its that small percentage that can make it hard on the rest of us. Anyway, it seems like no-one was severely injured. Or worse!! |
That should buff out. Seriously, how fast was he going on that residential street to do that much damage?
|
Well, when 2-cars collide that badly and 1 was parked on a residential street, then the obvious problem was the car in motion had a throttle stuck open.
Longk ago my Q-JET sucked a Secondary throttleplate off the shaft, which provides WOT no matter what you do. Luckly i turned the key off and avoided damage. A motorcyclist (Sega 650) who happened to be alongside came to check to see what happened, and we investigated the matter, and soon on our separate ways, unharmed and yet wiser for the situation. |
What a shame...

"An American muscle car". Sounds scary. LOL.

Quote:
"Hooning" "American Muscle Car" "7.4 Litre" Jesus, the media down there really has it out for car guys. |
Wonder how they know it’s a 7.4 liter? Isn’t 454 usually called a 7.4 liter.
Either way it looks like he was speeding down a narrow residential street like an idiot! |
Quote:
Oh Dear, the pollution! |
7.456 liter for a 455.. Or 7.5 liter when talking to the chevy guys with their tiny 7.4 liter big blocks.. 😜
It does at least appear that guy was doing something he probably should not have been doing. |
[QUOTE=72projectbird;6404714]"Hooning" "American Muscle Car" "7.4 Litre"
Don't forget to include: " A beast of a car" :blabla: |
No Mustangs over there to trash?

F'ing Aussies. :D:D

We get a lot of people wiping out cars here, usually late at night. Many supercars in 2022. A lot of them driven by rich kids. You do see the odd muscle car, though. Last year a guy had a nice '66 Chevelle that he lost control of and split the thing into three pieces. In the news article, they spoke of how powerful the car was.

I feel the need to crash a Falcon XB GT just by falconing around...always wanted to say that in context

That looked crash looked like it had some really bad judgment behind it. But that news report seemed to think he was some kind of terrorists. Yikes.
Seems like we are surrounded by bad judgment, and often poor driving skills. Not a good combo. Reminds me of the Camaro driver that falls out of his car during his burn out efforts, same caliber of skills and judgement. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XigUXvVR-xw |
"The Passat was catapulted ..." Sigh. Journalism is dead.

Here is one that tangled with a dump truck in Michigan a few years ago. Freshly restored. No one as injured fortunately. Sad end to a nice car.
