77 TRASHCAN 01-14-2023 09:23 PM

Lol. I work on large cars....
My school owns 2 2023 Freightliner/Thomas school buses, also 2-2022's
2-2021's
2-2020's
And many older models...

With air conditioning they are around $100,000.00 each.

I don't know but I'm glad they do! You'd be suprised how many of them go to China!

Probably either my General Lee ($80-$240k depending on the auction) or my wife’s 2020 Hellcat Daytona ($95k)

1968 Shelby Fastback GT500

Probably this Corvette. I had to do emergency body and paint work to it after my employer damaged it. The owner at the time had paid over 500K at auction. It is a well known car in survivor condition. The body damage I repaired was never disclosed and documented. This was after the Nabor brothers had their hand in it. https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2009...ette-Roadster/

I’ve restored others that sold in excess of 200K.

I did the Holley Carbs on a 1967 Shelby Fastback GT500 428 engine many years ago.

I was told his car was worth between $220,000 and $245,000 (if he sold it.
Low mileage car.)

Sounds like a massive amount of money vs the original cost of the car from Shelby.

My '66 Corvette is the most I have ever paid for a car.

Off the top of my head a 69 COPO Camaro or maybe a 69 TA. I build quite a few rare engines and always get a bit nervous in regards to theft. I try to be clever and take precautions like I did with this 1968 RA 2 engine. :D

I had a 1936 ford coupe, 1960 T-Bird and 1967lincoln, all made of stainless steel in my shop at the same time. Not sure what they cost, but I would guess the combined value to be over a million. Had the 36 in by itself a couple of times. I'd like to thank Allegheny Ludlum Steel and Hall industries for the pleasure. There were 6 of the 36 coupes made with only 4 remaining, 3 of the 67 lincolns were made and 2 of the 1960 T-Birds. All three have had starter and generator work done by Stellar Generator in Pittsburgh Pa.

I have done a number of carburetors for customers with Duesenberg Model J, V-12 Packards, V-12 and V-16 Cadillacs, among others.

Stellar, thanks for the pictures. Those look like fantastic examples of special Fords. I take it that those are cars commissioned by Ford to be built in limited number. I have had a similar experience myself with a Ford product. One of my customers owns the all steel prototype of the 75th anniversary 32 roadster that we maintain. I have read that the 74 cars that followed were offered around 175K when new. I will post pictures and details tomorrow.

This is the story behind the stainless steel fords, they were built as a partnership with Allegheny-Ludlum Steel. https://www.oldcarsweekly.com/featur...tainless-fords
