valve seals

can someone that knows for sure tell me if valve seals for a chevy small block are the same for a Pontiac? Thanks

Valve stem wise, yes they are both 11/32” / .341”, guide OD wise you need to tell me/ us if the guide has been cut down from stock to .530” or .500” seals,

I will have to ask my buddy who has the seals he knows more about this stuff then I do, just looking to save a month shipping time to get them here

Where is here you speak off?

It’s not a matter of looking at the seals, you need to measure the OD of the tops of the valve guides!

i'm about 35 miles outside Moncton New Brunswick Canada,my wife was on some sites an they all said 3-4 weeks delivery time, the heads as far as I know are stock, an I will let him know that we will have to measure the OD of the top of the valve guides Thanks

Please note that if the heads are still stock that neither the .530" or the .500" seal I posted about will work, as the tops of the guides will have had to be cut for them.

If the heads are staying stock and running the stock original valves then the seals your buddy needs are the small O-ring type seals that load into the second groove on the valve stems once the retainer has been put on.

I just looked at the Summit racing site and they have all three of what you might need in stock.

They have the comp Cams rubber O rings.

They have the comp camps Blue .530" guide seals .

They have the comp Cams .500" guide seals.

All of these they have multiples of in stock.

Note that if the positive guide located seals are used that the stock Round oil shield that goes over the top of the valve spring should not be used anymore.

The removal of these calls for the use of a .030" valve spring to get the lossed seat pressure back.
