Will trade a 66 valve cover if interested, otherwise let me know how much, thanks!

If you have a pic and you want to DM me that would be great, thanks, or just post here. |
Will have to pass, are rougher then I remembered.
|
No problem, thanks though!

I have a pair of 64's which I believe are the same (if not, please correct me). They're at ranch and I won't be going back up there until Tuesday, but if you're still looking let me know.

Drivers side is same which is what I need. Passenger side has filler pipe for 64 but has the screw-on breather for 65. I just need the drivers. Thanks!

I found a pic of when covers were on old motor. Look and see if you can tell from pics if that is what you need. I don’t think they are dented but they should be rechromed to look right on a nice restoration.

This photo is just for identification reasons.
A pair of Original 1965 oriented valve covers. Most of 1964 and all of 1965 had a rubber plug on the LH valve cover as shown below. |
I do not believe that there is any hole at all in the driver's side cover. I'm not sure what year model these covers are from.

A nice original pair of ‘64 GTO valve covers for reference.

The engine builders usually have two breathers on the passenger side valve cover, nothing on the driver's side.

I’m not sure what post #11 is referring to, but “ALL” 1965 GTO’s plus Lemans had a solid plug or grommet in the LH valve cover.
How the Factory assembly was done. Solid rubber plug if sold new in 49 states. Rubber grommet to accommodate air cleaner breather tube if sold new in California as part of the 614 option. 1) First photo is a 1965 magazine test article on a ‘65 GTO. 2) Scott Tiemann Original family owned restored ‘65. 3) Original Unrestored Survivor ‘65. 4) An Original ‘65 Lemans 326. 5) An Original owner ‘65 with the 614 option. PS, Ames catalog seems to be aware of the HOLE on the LH valve cover and PLUG on pages 186-187. |
