The Beverly Hillbillies

Trivia question here.

Do any of you remember an episode where Jed trying to have a serious conversation with Jethro and Jethro is crunching his big bowl is so loud that he can’t here what Jed is saying.

It was hilarious and I cannot find it on YouTube and I was wondering if anyone else remembers it.

i remember his cereal bowl - that held a whole box of cereal.
But don't exactly recall the scene you are asking about.

Jethrine was a real doll baby :fear:

I remember this one:

Jed (talking about the cereal): Boy, how many bowls you had?

Jethro: One!

Elly May: Jethro, you filled that thing three times!

Jethro: Ya, but I done used the same bowl!

I remember him eating cereal out of mixing bowls, several times. Seemed like we had bowls with same design. I got my Mom's bowls when she passed...

I remember Jethro always wanting to go to one of those "Wild Hollywood parties" LOL. Good thing he never got to...he might of have run into some of Charles Manson's girl friends...LOL

Elly calling Jethro,a'double nut spy' or words to that effect. Jethro wanted to be a spy.

LOL, he had that cast iron bullet proof hat. He's slap it on like he did his regular hat and nearly knock himself out.

Double "Knot" spy

Baron Von Zeppelin 09-11-2020 02:15 PM

Jethro called it "double-naught" spy ( like .007 )
Elly had it right though. Double-Nut

In math class he learned - and recited
naught plus naught = naught
naught minus naught = naught
naught times naught = naught

And they grad-je-ated him with a 6th grade education diploma
- to get him out of there.

The iron helmet and army tank were great ones.
He played that role to perfection every episode.
He was the best character of the show

The double barreled slingshot was a good one.

Try Granny's Garden, about halfway thru...

Max Baer always said it was a huge mistake playing the part of Jethro. It typecast him and prevented him from getting other more serious roles. It may have been bad for him, but brought many of us huge laughs.

My favorite was Mr. Universe Dave Draper visiting and the Clampetts wondering what was wrong with him. Seems he had a case of 'the barbells.'
Later Ellie May is seen by the 'cement pond' moving the barbells and dumbbells around one handed. It was Grannies country cookin' that made her so strong.

When I was young, my cousins had a real "cement pond" .looked nothing like a pool, was a dug out low sided bowl and cement was poured in .. spring fed, and cold. So hearing that term never even made me think twice!

I can still recall my father helping me with homework in the 1st~2nd grade saying... 'naught from naught is naught'..

Yep, and he gradjeated highest in his class. At least 2 foot taller than any of the rest of 'em...lol

By the way, Max Baer Jr. wrote and starred in 'Macon County Line'. Bad guy. More trivia is that his father, Max Baer Sr. was World's Heavyweight Champion in the 1930s.

LMAO
i had forgotten that part :D

I know he says the show doomed him as type-cast,
but he should have ran with it and jumped on the Hee-Haw wagon.

Mr.Haney from Green Acres would have fit Hee-Haw too,
selling cars with Junior
