T/A Fender Flares
Has anyone purchased the front fender flares offered by The Parts Place? I'm wondering if they fit right.
|
I would not order ANYTHING from The Parts Place! I have ordered 69 Trans Am fender air extractors, the 69 Firebird parking lamp fillers, and a couple other parts. Not only do they not fit correctly, they are not even molded correctly to even be the right shape!!!
Their hood tach, Hurst His/Her shifter, and front lower air baffle were ok though. |
I suspect they don't even stock what they sell necessarily, as they will deny a request to post additional photos of an item they only show in a single photo..

You can also heat the flairs for a little fine tuning as far as fitment.

Who is the reproducer of the flares?
|
Will be running out of nos & nice used flares soon, so def a timely post.
Thoughts for those that have used these & Danko's fiberglass versions as far fitment go. What material are PP '70-78 flares made out of? Is there a steel rein bracket on each of the PP flares? |
Does anyone know the manufacturer of “the parts place” flares? Are they Danko’s?
Also does anyone know the material they are made of? Thanks, Stan. |
I asked. They say they are ABS plastic and that they have them made for them. Would not say by what company. I bought one to test/compare.

They are the most like GM ones out there but normally need some heat gun work to make fit.
|
I was curious as I have a set of NOS and the car I’m building is a clone. If they are that nice I would rather save the NOS for a real TA hopefully in my future.

I have used several sets of Parts Place I cut the bracing out and and fit flare on body then re-glue I have the contact info for guy who makes them for Joe I wanted to buy a batch of 10 sets that were not glued but no luck Maybe we could do a group purchase of flares not glued and get them unglued and for cheaper
I would be in for 6 sets at least |
