Unique 73 front bumper?

Check out the front of this 73 GTO clone. I have never seen this front bumper on a 73, but I am certainly not an expert. Custom fabrication?

It looks like it's a custom fabricated job. It's an interesting idea.

It looks like he took 2 73 Lemans header panels, installed one as original, and then cut the 2nd one short and fit and welded it upside down underneath the original one, and blended them together. The valance part looks like it could be a 73 Grand Am valance panel.

I kind of like it... Would shave about 600 pounds off my front end!

Looks like what would have been the '72 Colonnade GTO, from pics in Collectible Automobile. Just there was more bumper under the plastic.

The planned Endura Colonnade A body became the Grand Am instead.

More than likely he did a similar custom rear bumper.......be interesting to see that also.

Looks like it hit a brick wall. The owner probably refers to Volvos as boxy, too.

The front end reminds me of a flattened 70 to 73 Firebird. The lower valance is not from a
Grand Am based on not having round parking lights.

I looked at the car last week. Definitely looked better in the picture :). Up close you could see where the pieces were welded together as the paint over the weld seam was cracked. Someone then stuck a couple of orange marker lights in place of parking lights. Problem was that the assembly cretaed a large open area in front of radiator that looked like a grill belonged there, but was missing.

All in all the car was pretty rough, and only good for a parts car IMO. Guy was asking 6,500, but I personally would not pay over 1,500 and then part it out.
