I'm helping my friend Rick by posting this. I don't know much about these cars, but I know that GTO was an option for 1972, but I don't see that on the build sheet, yet, I see everything else that seems GTO like. If you know more, and think this is a Lemans, please let me know
It is the original matching numbers 400, 4bbl with M20 muncie 4 speed, Hurst shifter with console, ralley gauges, sport wheel, a/c, and rear windoow defroster. It also has power steering and power disc brakes. The rear end is not safety T Track. Originally Quezal Gold. Rally II rims are 15x8 with 235 60 15 tires all around. This care needs nothing. Everything works. Rick has driven it all over Florida and will have it at the speedway at Daytona for Turkey Rod Run in the car corral Asking price of $24,500 Rick can answer all your questions at 772-201-1241 |

Certainly a very nice car, but I'm wondering if in fact it is a legitimate GTO. I see the "LeMans Sport Option" on the bottom of the invoice, but nothing mentioned about a GTO option. Also some type of red numbers??, maybe engine size, on the rocker moldings. Would a 72 GTO have this?? Best wishes with the sale, Carmine.

The LeMans Sport option in '72, got one the bucket seats & dlx door panels. Otherwise a 2 door '72 LeMans (whether or not, it had the GTO option) received a bench seat with the standard '72 LeMans doors panels (same panels as a '71 T-37). The std door panels for '72 will have a rectangular LeMans emblem, or swirled GTO emblem, if std interior '72 LeMans was also equipped with the GTO option.
The above '72 T-41 LeMans is very rare in that it was factory ordered with the L78 400 4 bbl & the M20 wide ratio Muncie. Nearly all '72 T-41 equipped LeMans had the 350 2bbl. From the picture of the original window sticker, one can note there is no GTO option, code 334, but numerous other desirable options. |
What days will he be there and what space number does he have? If he still has it, I would like to look at it.

I suspect that he will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It won't be in the swap meet, so there is no assigned number. I'm sure you have gone there before to the Car Corral. It is on the grass south of the swap meet about the center of the track. It's a combination of car show, used car lot, zoo and picnic all rolled into one.
