403 Old / 350 Olds 1970

HI, does anybody knows if the 350 Firebird 350 Olds (California) has same oil filter and upper /lower radiator hose as the 403 Olds? :usa2:

Hoses would be same. The 403 the same as a 350 that the Olds engineers modified the block w/ siamesed cylinder bores to allow a much bigger bore. I am sure the filters are same, but will get back to you...for sure

Oil filters are same, also.....same filter as a pontiac....

Pontiac and Olds engines use different size filters, different part numbers.

Well,
I was shooting from the hip, I sold auto parts from 1985-1998.
If you have a true Pontiac, Olds, Buick, or Cadillac engine, a true to brand engine , not a corporate swap...
1960-1967 or 68 all those makes use the Wix 51049, the long, wide filter...
1968-1978 all those makes use the Wix 51258, the short wide filter.

Wix 51045 is the long narrow filter that can be used in place of one of those
Wix 51042 is the short narrow that can be used in place of one of those

The narrow filters seem to cause possible flow restriction problems, as many have stated here, when used in place of the wider filter numbers.

There's also a late model GM filter that will fit a Pontiac, although it would be classified as a long, narrow filter, Wix 51522, It does however have an anti drain back valve in it..

Maybe other brands have different part numbers specific to certain applications. Just telling what I know............
