ICON FORGED PISTONS, Part # IC9960, Any of you guys running this forged pistons street strip, I need some feed back, I found a seller has them $340. complete set...thanks guys

They are good. They used to be called Keith Black in the past. Don't confuse the Forged and the Hyperutectic pistons, as they are different.

I'm currently running them in the 455 motor in my signature. No complaints.

United Engine & Machine Co. Those pistons have 4 valve reliefs and a 5/64 ring . Not too desirable.

. I am asking this seller at this price and if this is a company with more part numbers at this price ?

Icon makes good pistons. These pistons you list are the FHR series, which is more like a stock replacement piston. Not as good as the full blown Icon premium that most speak of. These have 4 symetrical valve reliefs, and offset pins, with stock rings.

I am running the Icon premium forged pistons in my 455,great piston. One thing I did notice using the Icon premium pistons is the cold start noise vs my TRW/Speed pro's on my other car.The Icon premium piston is made from 2618 forged material and is strong and light weight with short skirt vs the TRW/Speed pro and long skirt. The 2618 material requires a greater piston to cylinder clearance for expansion.Once it reaches operating temp it is quiet.Icons website mentions this in there tech info.My car has cast Ram air exhaust manifolds and full length exhaust and factory air breather.Cars running tubular headers and exhaust exiting under car with open element air breather probably won't hear a thing even when cold.

the Icon forged version begins with lc888 etched in the part number on the piston.

Pretty sure that's the part number on the pistons we installed in the 455 that we finished up yesterday (shortblock).

We fit them a bit righter than recommended, but the blocks are final finished with a torque plate. Never once had any noise when the engines are cold, or any other adverse effects from running tighter piston to bore clearances.

I'm not recommending here for folks to start running these pistons as close as stock cast pistons, just saying that I set them up here pretty close, and haven't had the first issue once with them.......Cliff
