i see a lot of the ralley sterring wheels at swap meets for sale but they are all have bad finishes on the foam grip area. does anyone restore these or is there a do it your self method?? |

I didn't think they could be restored. Mine was pretty much destroyed, metal showing through the upper 1/3 of the wheel and foam pulling off every time I grabbed it. I saw a darned nice looking '70 rally wheel on E-bay about a year ago that went for over $600...Way out of my price range, so I just bought a repro from PY for $229...looks and feels great.

If you take a look on www.transamcountry.com Mike wrote how he restored his. It appears in the Tips section of his website. Don't know how to copy the link, maybe someone else can help out with that.

i read that article but they don't mention how to fix the chunks missing. I was planning on using a flexible epoxy type product.
