Scorpion and Harland Sharp rockers mix and match?

Need 3 new Harland Sharp 1.5 roller rockers - will the Scorpions set the pushrod in the same location = Length?

Thanks, Craig

It should, for years I ran H/S 1.5 rockers on the exhaust side and PRW stainless 1.65 on the intake side and I used 9.300 on all 16 valves.

Yes it would , but I have concerns about the Scprions holding up for you if you have busted the Harland's which are stronger.

What's your open pressure?

Have you contacted Harland Sharp for replacement rockers?

Agree on contacting H/S, if you broke them they will probably warranty them, if not they sell them individually.

HS can sell individuals as well as rebuild them. Nice folks to work with.
Also from what I have found every different brand even with the same listed ratio is slightly different, different pushrod cup depths, different roller wheel diameters.

Thanks guys - just had some contact with the stud girdle and didn't want to run them.

They are back ordered.

Steve...I haven't used HS rockers for years, and I know they have some new options for Pontiacs since then. But I just picked up a set of Scorps Race series (vs. Endurance series) for my engine, and these are beefy and massive.....

Not wanting to argue, but rather curious as to why you claim the HS are stronger?

HS has a "Race set" also really bigger and bulkier.

I can honestly say a scorpion rocker is the only one I have seen split in half horizontally. I have replaced 2 sets for a buddy of mine with HS. From that 2 sets at least 6 of them started cracking and the one broke in half. This was not the race series rockers.

Craig, I have 1.65 ratio in HS and Scorpion. When setting up the rocker arm geometry, each brand required different pushrod lengths with the cam I have.

Also, the Scorpions measured 1.65 ratio with checker springs and 1.62 with running springs. The HS were 1.76-1.77 with checker springs and 1.65 ( maybe .01-.02 higher, don't remember ) running springs. I just use a small HFT cam, so no high spring pressures.

Hi Jim!

If your running a stud girdle make sure to run the 4 ends poly locks with the retaining snap ring. It prevents the girdle from moving down.

Wow - I didn't know that could or did happen - I just thought it was my mistake.

Ya I had it happen and caught it right away. It put a few witness marks on the stud griddle. No damage. Just make sure you check the circumference of your poly locks so there all the same size. And also watch the size of the end that fits into the rocker for proper clearance. I run Crower 1.5 Stainless rockers and I used all the Comp cams polylocks. Seeing this happened make sure to check your pushrods to make sure that none are bent.
