R.A.R.E Product Question - Need Help

Does anyone know if the oversized Ram Air Restorations round-port exhaust manifolds (64-67) work with an IA2 block without any material needing to be removed?

If grinding/modifications are required, where exactly?

Block side I'm assuming (deck surface edge on drivers-side)?

IIRC, we had to use a pair of header flanges to space my round port super long branch manifolds with the 3" outlets away from my IA2 block due to an interference issue.

Even my Hooker headers that cleared a stock bock I had to hammer #1 tube to clear the freeze plug boss.

Do you have the manifolds? Just curious. Thx

I do not.

I am wanting a set or will go the Hedman Header 2" primary tube route (part # 35030).

Trying to find a contact who has put .250 spacers under the frame motor-mount attachments and still was able to fit a 4-speed without trans tunnel modifications AND still have clearance for a Lakewood bellhousing at the firewall opening (at the top of the opening).

1965 GTO.

Stock suspension/frame.

I had asked previously around here about the spacers but didn't really get much of a response. Definitely a proprietary item. For me, I had heard, or maybe wanted to hear, that you didn't need the special 65-67 Ram Air Restoration RP manifolds with the spacers. But that didn't go anywhere. As far as the manifolds, I wouldn't hold my breath. They're not likely to show up anytime soon. If they do show up and I look like a fool, then I'll be a happy fool. Even D port stuff is scarce at this time. I hope that someone can better answer your question. I do know that RP headers take up a lot of real estate with those 1 7/8" primaries.

If all else fails and you have to have RARE and want the straight info call Paul!He told me most info found on the internet is not true. That how I found the 68-72 fit fine on 64-67.Call!

Hooter (member) on here had success with the Hedman 2” #35030 headers.

Maybe I’ll reach out to him directly.

Is there anyone you can borrow a pair from for mock up? You could use several header gaskets to determine the spacing you need. I have a new set of Doug's that I got about 12years ago for '64-'67 round port if you are interested.

Hi Tom, I've spoken with Paul a few times about my quandry and he's never mentioned that. If you've found out how the '68-72 manifolds work on a '66-67, then can you please just tell us?
Thanks,
Chris
