I know I’m being anal, but just to confirm on wiring a 67 GTO starter, the cable from the positive terminal of the battery goes to the big post on the solenoid, the red wire From the wiring harness also connect to the same place as a positive cable battery. The purple wire from the wiring harness goes to the S terminal on the solenoid. Am I correct on this?

Yes sir!

No shame in being anal about electrical work.

Thanks Kenth, I swear the older I get the less confident I am! And I’m getting old, be 79 next month! I don’t regret TRYING to restore my GTO, just hoping I get to get to drive it before i die! 😁🙏

Ditto on all!

Yep, for a lot of us it is a race against time!!

I guess I am the lucky one. I had my car restored a good while back. But, there is always something to do. I need to replace the radiator (already have a new Be Cool one) and take the carpet out to spray it with vinyl dye or replace it. It has faded bad. But, that is to be expected with a convertible and the south Georgia sunshine. I am 73 but feel like 100 most days! I also have two more projects in the works, a 1990 Tracker Panfish 16 and a 1950 Pontiac Stream Liner.

I swore that I wasn't going to build any more cars at my age. At 73 I started a 1962 Bonneville and I'm still at it. Every time I do something major I hope I get to enjoy it. Good luck with your car.

Nothing wrong with questions. No one knows it all. Always good to confirm your thinking. This is a great site for info and enjoyment. Have a great day !

Glad to know I'm not the only old person around!

"Better to ask a question and seem stupid for 30 seconds than not to ask it and be stupid for the rest of your life."
