66-72 Seat Track Extender Install
 

Hi All,

I haven't read about anyone installing any of the seat track extenders to get extra leg room. I bought a set to install in my '70 GTO. The short answer: The extra leg room is really nice, but the installation is nowhere near as simple as the vendors make it out to be.

Thank you! I'm glad I did it. After a few times out with the car, I don't know how I did without it. The best part is that if your concerned about "correctness", it's completely reversible .

How many inches did you actually get from the conversion?

Thanks. It really did turn out to be about 2 inches.
Looking at the two pieces side by side, it was hard to believe that after all that bending, the the holes lined up perfectly with the factory mounting points. I didn't even have to file or open up the holes any.

What was your cost? Mine is 124.00.I just ordered a set from OPG for my 70, and according to the ad and tech

I got mine from The Parts Place via eBay for $54. I went and checked the ones over on OPGI they seem functionally the same. I read the reviews and no one seemed to have any problems with them, which has me confused. That's what prompted me to write up my little article. If you downloaded and read what I wrote you will see why.

I'm very interested in how your experience goes. If yours come with better or different instructions that has them "simply" bolt on, please take pictures and let me know because I sure don't know how that would work.

Funny...I have the same color interior in my 70.

In their current configuration, they're about 19" long x 2.5" wide with about 1/2" tall side walls and the material is about 1/8" thick. Hope that helps.

I love your 70 Pontiac GTO Gallery article.

I read with interest your "Dead-Head" EFI write up as I am about to attempt the exact same install (Sniper EFI 4150 with identical in-tank fuel pump).
Would you mind posting all the part #s of items you purchased for the Radium Pulse Damper, to include which pulse damper?
Does it attach directly to the EFI body...or is there a hose involved?
Also, which Fuel Pressure Gauge are you using? I'm assuming the 6an system?
