Safety Bear
The California Department of Transportation posted a video of a bear out for a walk when it comes to an orange traffic cone that was tipped over on its side. The bear stops, grabs the cone in its teeth, and stands it back upright. Thanks, Bear!

He has done more that day then the DOT crew I saw sitting in their pick up!

I don't want to add a serious note, but I'd like to see that kind of behavior studied. I don't think that was a random event, I think that bear is used to seeing them upright and made a conscious effort to normalize his environment. Much like our own compulsion to right something we see in our everyday lives that is not as it should be.

Thread title made me think of these bears which we used to see along the highway when traveling in the 1960s.

I watched it.
He knew. |
Bears are not stupid. They will come looking for stupid people by following their scent. I was stupid just once with one up in Northern NY. Never again. Don't ask me how I know.
But then again, I don't hunt anymore seeing I'm in Delaware.... where you don't see bears unless they're in a zoo. Tho on the loose, they'd have a field day here. LOL |
Smarter then most people these days.

He would be over qualified to work at DelDot

Bear did more work than 5 Caltrans workers do in an 8 hour day.

Safety bear
He may have been on his way to find a pic-a-nic basket!
