how excited were you guys??? cause i am so ecstatic about it.

gonna take about 4 weeks, but yea. woo hoo!!!!

BILTIT 07-30-2007 04:17 PM

Yup, it is a great feeling. Now you will have to upgrade that performer intake, and many more things you will find along the way!

ponjohn 07-30-2007 06:28 PM

From?

mchell 07-30-2007 07:19 PM

I'm impressed that someone is gonna build you a motor in 4 weeks..................who and what ?

*67firebird* 07-30-2007 08:08 PM

BILTIT, Yea im moving to a Performer RPM i wanted a torker 2 but not recommended YET!

PonJohn,
Butler.

MChell,
Sorry if i confused you.

i should have used a different title

it will take about 4 weeks to get the stroker!!! not an actual crate engine.

my machinsts will take about 2 weeks to assemble.
oil pan to valve covers.

take about 1 week after that to get engine in car and engine running static.

BILTIT 07-30-2007 08:17 PM

Count on the machinists to be longer than 2 weeks, just my experience. If they are done in two weeks, kudo's to them!

KS circutguy 07-30-2007 09:15 PM

Yep

Ditto to above comments.lol

Performer rpm and 3200-3500 stall Tight 10" at least good headers and 28" tires. Should rock !

*67firebird* 07-31-2007 10:33 AM

Ron H,

i think it will stall around 2800.
i do know i need a higher stall, but im using the 274 CC so i think it can do for now. something to take me in the 12's.

i do have 28" though

Ron H 07-31-2007 11:14 AM

Using the "274CC" what?
You will need to run race gas or maybe best to go to an E-85 set up instead if it's available where you are.
What headers and exhaust do you have or are you planning?
I am going to a 2" header and will have Dougs with a 3" Pypes exchange with 3" race pros available for sale soon if you are interested.I think this set up will work on a 67.

BILTIT 07-31-2007 11:19 AM

I think he means the 274 comp cam.

BILTIT 07-31-2007 11:21 AM

Are you re-using the stall from the old engine, what did it stall at?

Ron H 07-31-2007 12:51 PM

Who me? I am runing a Continental race 10" 4000 stall now.

BILTIT 07-31-2007 12:54 PM

Sorry Ron, was directed at 67firebird.

Since i've got you, how do you like the 4000 stall? Do you think it is streetable? I might be looking to loosen mine up next year and lookin for some feedback, still needs to be streetable though.

Ron H 07-31-2007 01:23 PM

No this converter isn't streetable. Its is really loose under 2400 rpm. But it isn't the Tight version, it's the race version so they build it differently.

BILTIT 07-31-2007 01:31 PM

IC, thanks for the info.

*67firebird* 07-31-2007 08:27 PM

yea 274 comp cam. compression will be roughly 9.6 but im not sure might end up at 9.7. think im going to get a .050 gasket if thats the case.

i never ran the old verter. so i hope it will do good cause its going in.
