Alternator wiring

This may have already been asked and hell it may have even been asked by me but I cant find it by search so here goes. I have the CVF racing 105 AMP alternator. I am running it as a 3 wire because I want the light in the dash to work. In fact I want everything in the car to work but thats besides the point. CVF told me I still needed to run a wire from the terminal to the battery but that I SHOULD be able to hook the factory wiring harness up to the terminal on the back of the alternator with no problems. I have M&H factory reproduction harnesses for ease of wiring. Does anyone know if its gonna be a problem hooking that wire to the terminal? Is it gonna burn up immediately? I know its designed for a 35 amp alternator and I just dont want any problems but I want my light to work. Any suggestions or telling me how to do it would be appreciated.

Running it as a 3-wire is always best because you will get the correct charge voltage. I would not run a 105A through a wire sized for 35A. I would use not less that a 8AWG and probably a 6AWG if I was stringing a new wire anyway.
