how to clean trim tag

The trim tag on my '70 GTO has been painted over many times and the paint is so thick it is hard to read. Can this be removed and cleaned?

I heard Easy-Off Oven cleaner works, or brush on some brake fluid if you're careful.
Paint strippers that are available now, don't do squat anymore.
You really don't want to remove the trim tag unless you absolutely have to.

I was thinking about removing it. Putting it back with new rivets does not seem so hard. Am I missing something?

Those are available reproduced as original. I'm not a restorer but I believe its an accepted practice in the restoration scene. That one looks damaged.

Who reproduces these trim tags?
