400 w/62 heads

I am seeing if there is any serious interest in the engine out of my old bracket car. It is a 400 which is stamped YA(I haven't got a date code at the moment). The heads are 62 castings. Edelbrock intake, Holley carb, GM HEI ignition. The old car always ran really well. Currently it is not running however. Something is wrong with the starter or electrical in the car as I can't get it to spin over fast enough to fire up and the solenoid gets hot. I would like to get $600 for the engine.
I would also sell the whole car('72 Ventura II). Although it is pretty much just parts at this point(2nd gear is mia and some worthless teenagers vandalized the outside and dash of the car).

Price for car?

justincampbell 11-05-2014 12:44 PM

$800 for the whole car. Car has a 4.10 10 bolt and a big 4 core radiator.

py71lemans 11-05-2014 02:34 PM

Is the 10 bolt an 8.2 or an 8.5

I am unsure.

I also have a pair of new M&H street slicks(G60s I think) on 15x7 Chevy rally wheels that I never even got put on the car since the wastes of oxygen vandalized it. I would also sell these for $400 firm for the pair(tires cost me around $440 for the pair)

I don't know if any work was done to the heads. The previous owner put the engine together.
I'll have to look this weekend for some numbers to ID the carb.

that would be great, thanks

justincampbell 11-14-2014 09:08 PM

Carb is a Holley 1850-1 which I believe is a 600cfm. I am somewhat surprised that the car ran so strong without such a small(relative to cid, cam etc.) carburetor.

justincampbell 11-25-2014 01:22 AM

I have decided that I would very much prefer to sell the car as a whole. $800

68greenbird 11-25-2014 03:35 PM

May have an interested party here. If it doesn't take to much to get it back to being a running bracket car. Date code of block, and more pics if you can thanks.

justincampbell 12-03-2014 01:26 PM

This is still for sale IF I can sell the whole car.

Is there a way to edit my title and original post?

Pm sent

Car has NO title. It was completely gutted and turned to an amateur drag car 20+ years ago.

If you decide to separate, I'd be in for the engine.
