70 Ram Air IV GTO on eBay; price too good?
Does the buy it now price at $24,500.00 seem too good to be true on this Ram IV 70 GTO?
More details are needed to value it but… Here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-GTO-...US_Cars_Trucks |
It does but the seller, sweetmuscle, is a pretty well known member here....so...maybe not.

You know what they say, "if it sounds to good to be true"

I have dealt with and bought cars from him in the past, no issues, but I suggest you call him for any questions as he has the car.

A lot of watchers but I'm surprised it wasn't snapped up at that price.
|
Buy it, pull the motor, drop in some other 400 that's painted up nice and run it through an auction.
You'll be dollars plus a RAIV motor ahead when you're done. |

I think what he's saying is that at such a good price, you could buy it, grab the RAIV motor and still re-sell it at that price, honestly, as a real RAIV Judge with incorrect engine.
In the meanwhile, you'd have a RAIV engine (which probably isn't original to the car anyway) on the stand in your garage. Pretty good thinking. I'd consider it myself if it was a bit closer. |

that car was on ebay before, a couple times, a while ago. I thought sold for about 20K.

Of course, you'd leave the VIN with the car. It would be a documented RAIV GTO with a standard 400 engine in place of the original. |
I"m on the hunt for a car myself. I saw this one. Anyone know if it's good or too good to be true? My preference is 68-69, but a nice deal on a 70 is ok too.

The Boss did not imply anything about separating the VIN from the car. He did imply keeping the RAIV engine and selling the car, VIN and all, with a different engine. Nothing illegal or immoral. Just as Greg Reid said. |
You guys are CRAZY. What we have here at best is a 70 raiv gto with the wrong motor, probably wrong trans and wrong rear. Wrong interior color too. So we have a cobbled up car for how much????? By the time your done you will have more money in it that's it's worth...why do u think the real players on this board and there's plenty are not buying it. And the seller is questionable at best. I've heard out lots of problem deals but I won't go there..ITS CHRISTMAS time for Christ sake. Anyway. If u like to gamble then go for it. I'd rather buy an all original base motor car that's not whored up myself. Here's Tom with the weather!

Factory built with Verdoro Green and black vinyl top, correct?
1970 GTO Ram Air IV 2dr hardtop.Production: 140(automatics) Interior: Black 258,not correct acc to pictures? The PHS shows a nicely optioned car and if most options remains, what´s wrong with the price? Seems that the car was delievered with "poverty-caps" |
It may not be to the liking of the "numbers matching crowd" but I have seen a lot worse go for more money. If the car is truly a very nice driver and has most of the RAIV engine components it is well worth it. Color changes are personal preference, and a lot of people could care less about numbers matching, they just want the "look". Most of the cars in BJ auctions are not even close to being "correct" but they bring big money. In fact there seems to be a "trend" of non numbers matching "resto" cars with modifications being more "popular" than a true numbers matching car. I think the price is in "sync" with what the car is.
