1970 GTO Jack color
 

I see both blue and black colored jacks for 70 GTO. Where both colors used or changed to black later in production Year. Also did the stamped U on the base still apply in 70. Thanks

Its been my personal experience (68 GTO) that in the late 60s, the black jack bases were from the Fremont plant. Fremont had a different design jack head, base (square opening) and colors.
Not sure about the other plants but its another area that the GTO Restoration Guide was wrong in assuming all were Light Blue.

Agree, as the model years rolled on (closer to 1970) the original authors of the "Restoration Guide" were wrong on so many items.

On the exact mechanism color of an original '70 GTO jack assembly, a good bet would be to PM member GTO.Paul I'm betting dark blue (near a Ford engine dark blue) color, but Paul will know.

My GTO came out of the Fremont plant in May of 70. When I got my car there was no jack in it. Thanks for the lead.
