That 73 is not very appealing. I have a Ascot car/ with formula stripe, will NOT use that shade of silver ever..

Do like the plastic valance on that '73 mess, not much else about the car. Am with you on the color, Bruce. Seldom see the original shade of Ascot silver on a low mile '73, the few Formulas I've ran across that were originally that color had cheap resprays by the mid 80's. My barber had a silver 455 Dport '73 Formula around 1984, rebuilt the qjet & installed a pusher pump on it.. That '73 came out of the panhandle of TX & wasn't that bad of shape. That said, at barely 10 years old the sides of the hood were warped. The endura was puckered where the top edges met the fenders, may have been bumped @ one time. Showed him a link to the BAT '73 BG 4spd Formula before it went off, if he was interested. Wants another one, but doubt it ever happens.

Original paint original panel 4spd SD from the BAT remarks.
Be interesting to see how much over a 100 that it goes

I'm very surprised it is only at $55,455 with 3 hours left. Looks like someone is going to get a smoking deal

Me too...watching this one for entertainment purposes today

Reminds me of my old non-SD t/a...

Maybe the crazy bat prices are finally falling...

Ascot Silver is a most terrible color. I had a '73 Grand Am shot in that color, and it was not appealing, even with the Oxblood gut.

kingbuzzo 09-07-2022 04:11 PM

110 and it doesn't hit reserve...that's crazy $

maybe I should re-evaluate my hobby...lol

Looking at those led me to this '67. I like it. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...rebird-400-10/

I was following a few 403/ Auto TATA's get some numbers I thought I would never see. Seem more like the 400/4spd. numbers.

kingbuzzo 09-13-2022 03:33 PM

that's crazy

Greg Reid 09-13-2022 04:52 PM

A guy at a car show once told me, referring to the Olds 403 TAs, "That's the one everybody wanted"....lol

I suppose if you really liked Oldsmobile engines and wanted one wrapped up in an appealing looking shell, an "Olds Am" would be OK. I certainly wouldn't want one. When they were new, our dealer couldn't give them away. One of the techs bought a very nice trade-in one for $700.00. T-top car. Drove it as a daily driver and beat it to death for a couple years. 403 was a decent engine for the time frame.

Greg Reid 09-14-2022 11:43 AM

Nothing against Olds powered TAs if that's your thing... but he was convinced that it was the 'good' one. Personally I'd pass one up.

$33,000 with 2 days to go? It isn't that nice of a car IMO.. Tape on the drivers seat covering a hole?? Check out the lower corners of the doors. That white paint is hiding a lot of ugly.
