- Retiring -
After 39 years and 7 months I will be separating from General Motors. They offered a “package” and I took it.
Last day in the office was February 7th; there will be a period of transition and then I will morph into retirement after that. I’ll need to find something to do in order to keep the lights on at home but haven’t picked a new direction yet. K |
Congratulations!! Good Luck and enjoy Retirement!!

Congrats! All those cars in your sig should keep you busy. ;):D

I've enjoyed my semi-retirement for about a year now. 24 hours a week and 4 day weekends is a pretty good gig.
Hopefully you can find something that does that for you. |
Congrats on a long career and a bit of time off. I just saw my cousin, whom is a year younger than myself will retire in a couple of weeks and has already sold, and bought her new home in FLA. Scratching my head trying to figure what I did wrong!

Congratulations! Start restoring/rebuilding old carbretors for folks it is a dying art. The money isn't enough to support yourself on but it will keep you out of bars.

Eager to retire, but will await the time (10yrs). having fun managing a retired fella who works 3day/week for giggles and excellent design results. You may dig a 3-day/week duty. |
Buy a Harley and see the country. Perhaps ride to Alaska. Nothing like seeing this great country on 2 wheels.

Glad to hear you got your well earned retirement. Retirement takes a while to get use to but soon you’ll realize that the only thing you miss about working is the good people you worked with. You won’t miss the job itself. Hard to believe it will be 10 years this coming September that I retired from GM and the people is what I miss.

Congrat's Keith! I was just wondering if the downsizing affected you at all. A couple of Engineers I worked closely with in Spring Hill "retired" recently.
Good Luck on what ever you decide to do, I just hope you enjoy it! |
Well done sir.

Congrats! My brother was a long time engineer at Chrysler and was offered a package a few years ago - it worked out well for him and he's been enjoying retirement since (even more so that he finally convinced his wife to retire as well, so they're now both free to do what they want.)

It's been almost 25 years since I left UAW-GM. Time flys when you're have'n fun !

X2! Congrats and Welcome, Keith. :) |
Keith, I wish you a long and happy retirement! After 39+ years you deserve it. Hopefully, you'll draw 39 years (or more) of retirement!

Way to go Keith! My wife told me two things early in our relationship. When I talked about retiring she reminded me of it.For better or worse but not for lunch!Familiarity breeds contempt!Stay out of her hair!Tom

I retired for the second time about 9 months ago. There will be a short period of time of what I call "Hitting the Wall". You are so used to running at top speed and then all of a sudden it all comes to a stop. It took me about 2 months to be able to relax and enjoy the time off. When I retired from the military it took much longer since the pace was more demanding.
I still get up at 5 every morning though. Can't seem to shake that LOL. Congratulations upon your much deserved retirement! |
Congratulations Keith!

Congratulations, now only do what you enjoy, and love to do! My retirement will be April 26,2019. I have hobbies I enjoy. Plus want to get in better physical condition.
