69 Z/28 barn find

4 Attachment(s)
I know not a Pontiac but still a classic muscle car!
I found out about this car being for sale last Sept. & just today was able to complete the deal & take it out of the barn/garage that it has sat in since 1979.
All original #,s matching dz 302 ,trans, rear etc.
mostly original paint also.
I posted a few pics of it in the barn & some after I got it home
Would love to restore it but not sure if I have the time to do another car?

Restore it? Heck, wash it and drive it. Looks like it's ready to show if it weren't for the tires.

Do not know how much you paid for it but if it is a real Z-28 you just hit the jackpot! More pics please. Are you selling it or going to trade for a 69 Trans Am or Boss 302?

Nice score!! Those were screaming cars. Looks odd without the cowl induction hood, though. Does it have the gauge stack on the console?

lintmann 03-04-2010 01:19 AM

Not all of them apparrently.

A fellow classmate from from my high school auto shop class drove a '69 Z-28 that belonged to his older brother. The car was blue with white stripes and had a flat hood, which surprised me at the time.

As a side note, I had the pleasure of spankin' that "12-second" Z one night at the street races with my low-14s '57 VW while his Dad watched. :pound:

Good times.

Brent - congrats on a nice find!! I'm a Pontiac guy first but I like all the good stuff and scoring one like that has to be cool. Drive it - restore it - sell it :noidea:; whatever you decide: have fun.

69goatboy 03-04-2010 10:17 AM

Does that dz have the cross ram intake?

That intake alone could probably pay for your kid's college.

How much did you pay for the car? If you don't mind me asking, that is.

Looks like a very nice find. I imagine it took some time for someone to finally let that one go. Goes to prove there are some finds still out there.

No, it was an option.

About half the Z-28s had flat hood and no spoilers.

Rear bumper guards were included with all heavy-duty suspensions - Z-28 and SS cars.
