After a 15 year slumber going to get the old real street GTO back burning some rubber. Ditched the old aero scoop and putting a cowl on. Opinions on just leave the cowl only?, Cowl with sd scoop added? Or graft the old modified 66 scoop in the cowl? Or other?

I like the old Aero scoop.
Cowl hood is a Chevrolet design. |
Cowl is also more efficient.
|
Is that actually a sunoco scoop, the short style? I like them as is. But if your going to stack em, I like the SD scoop.

Glad to see your taking it out of mothballs.
Is this the one with the custom built single 4 intake manifold? |
The last one. Keep those cowls off Pontiacs.
Who cares if they work better. We are used to fighting with one arm anyway. |
Not a fan of cowls either, but thought I’d to give the trapped air somewhere to exit under this body style. I used to jack the rear of the hood up with spacers with the stock hood and the car would ET faster.
Paul K, yes same carbon fiber custom manifold |

Make some progress. Went with the modified original glass scoop. Wanted the sd scoop but was just too wide where it needed to be in relation to the carb to look decent.

Looks good!

Nice! I like where you're going with it

Looks good. The Goat nostrils really give it that Pontiac Signature. Let the sanding begin, lol.

Been back on the hood still with glass filler and 40 grit but getting close to a skim coat and fine grit paper. Built a 1/4” thick reinforcement on the rear cowl opening.

Looking good JC

Little more progress in spare time. Been about 12 years but hood back on. Fitting for cutting the cowl open for the dominator baseplate and ra seal. Took the old wide mouth harwood plug and made individual nostril plugs.

It looks tough JC
