Any air brush users?
 

I just ordered an Iwata trigger type air brush for very small touch ups and detail work on small parts (exterior, interior, engine bay etc.)

Has a 0.5mm nozzle. Max width about 1.5"

Anyone else use an air brush for detail work?

What urged me to get it was to paint some dash details. I've got some 30 year old PPG (Deltron?) that matches my dash perfectly and I've been using it very sparingly .. hate mixing up quantities large enough to use even in my Ani R150 so I thought I'd get something even smaller. I've used air brushes in the past, figured I'd give a good one a try.

Air brushes come in handy for various small jobs. Which model did you buy? I bought my Paasche air brush in 1969 for my custom paint business. I did a lot murals on vans and used it for various custom paint job effects. I'm still using it occasionally. I do artwork with it as well as spot repairs on cars where blending is needed. It's held up pretty well. I painted the Vette below a few years ago in 2009 Corvette Atomic Orange. While hanging the door I chipped the paint along the front of the door jam. I blended the color in a 1 foot by 3 foot area with my air brush because a regular gun would be too big. It's impossible to see the repair.

I don't have experience to use the top triggers, and I wanted something that would cover more area ... smallest detail I would ever need to do would be maybe 1/4"

Thanks. That model looks good, you control the spray direction like a spray gun as opposed to holding like a pen.

I use one of these as it can do the fine detail stuff as well as larger with the fan style head. It doesn’t take allot to get used to running a double action brush. What you have will work great and Iwata is a great brand with good support when needed.

I am not a big fan of the NEO line from Iwata, I much prefer my eclipse HP-CS or my Harder Steenbeck brush. Hopefully it will do what you need it for.

I was looking at the Eclipse line but was sold on the trigger setup on the NEO.

It's certainly not top of the line Iwata ... basically I wanted a quality really small paint gun as opposed to an air brush.
