Comp 290b cam users
I'm going back to my 290b after my roller damage. I have better flowing heads now, 300 from 240 when I used it before. When degreeing this cam, where would you install it? I don't know how it was done in my old 400.

What's the LSA?

If have always used it straight up or 2 degrees advanced just to make up for chain stretch.
That 2 degree key is very hard to come by these days! |
Surely change out them roller lifter springs to. flat tappet springs ;)
Will be most interesting to see same or improved performance! |
His, yes I'm going to change springs and pushrods
|
That cam worked great when I used it. Installed straight up.

Do a search in this section.
There was a guy that ran in the low 10's high 9's with that cam with 310 cfm d-ports. May have been on E85 though. |
I've seen that cam in a 450ci IA1 with edelbrocks go 9.90's in a 70 gto back in 2002.
The car was gutted with a glass hood but it wasn't super light.. it was a guy named Dalton out of Chesapeake VA.. The engine was built by Jim lehart ( not a fan so don't kill the messenger) .. it ran good.. |

Not intending to hijack but what is the minimum/maximum compression range of the 290b6?
|
It depends on how many cid where dealing with also?
|
I've never used them in a 400 but I put them in at 102 in the 455's.
