Very Interesting GP on Ebay

Does anyone else thinks this looks a little too good to be true?

It's sure nice that it has anti-lock brakes and air bags.

im trying to figure if the car is in CA or TX?If in CA maybe 15 miles from me.Tom

Seller has been on eBay since 2014 and this is the only listing he’s ever had. The link to the Texas company is odd if he’s in Bell Flower.
Check it out Tom! Could be a great find. Or, a big scam . . . . .

Has anyone heard of adding airbags to one of these cars? It seems like that would take an outrageous amount of retrofitting. Especially for driver, passenger, and side(!) airbags, as the listing says. The airbag part must be a typo.

It also has a CD player and a cassette player, leather seats, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Power Locks, Power Windows, Power Seats

If it seems too good to be true....

There's a notable lack of pictures of the engine or interior.
They only have 14 feedbacks, all for things they purchased and not cars they sold.
Their eBay page says they're in California, but their website says they're in Texas.
I found someone claiming a scam over on the Pelican Parts forum: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...l#post11671821

Well,im not interested but would look at it for anyone that might have a real interest if they can establish where the car is.Tom

After reading Stuarts' link, I don't think the car exists.

There is a link near the bottom of the ad that takes you to more pictures. Only one engine compartment picture that shows no air conditioning. Pictures of interior shows manual window crank handles. Also shows no A/C outlets but does show chrome knobs for floor vents. I don’t believe cruise control was available on manual transmission and I don’t see it in the engine picture.

Here is a post on the AACA website about Autohaus in Pharr Texas which is the link to that car

Someone alerted me this morning to an ad being run by carhaussales.com in Pharr, TX which lists my Zenith Blue 97 (sitting in my garage here in CT) for sale using pics and description from a 6+ year old Craig's list ad. They have three other 993's listed, all of which are bogus as well, taken word-for-word from previous sales. So I called Carhaus. I asked about the 97 Zenith Blue 993 they had for sale. I wanted to see if maybe it was a mistake, or maybe if it was a bait and switch. Nope. He proceeds to tell me all about the car, - great shape, running perfectly, yada, yada. I said "Yeah, I know, that's my car". He hung up. I emailed to tell him the other 3 993's were also scams. I filed a report with the Pharr, TX police dept. Total Scam. Beware.

Is this the same car?

I think this is the same car in the original posting, but the original ebay listing is gone.

No reserve, seller with two feedback....it still looks fishy to me!

The seller has just two feedbacks, both of them as a buyer and not a seller. That alone is a red flag to me. I looked at the website for PG Auto LLC in Houston and there are some other questionable cars for sale - for instance, a 1968 Dodge Super Bee with a hemi for just $28,000? A 1958 Cadillac Eldorado for 34,000? A 1996 Acura NSX for $26,000?

How do these scams and scammers just continue? And so blatantly?

Around here - if you were to scam the wrong person one time the "problem" would simply "disappear".
