Low speed only on wipers

2 Attachment(s)
I did search some, didn't find what I needed.

Sent non working wiper/washer to Steve Hackel who restored the unit, came back amazing. See pic. Installed and tested low, it worked. Then pushed for washer. Lines were dry but it shot water finally and great. Switched to high speed and it is the same speed. Tried washer again and nothing.

-If the motor only had one speed, will the washer still work? ( wondering if I have more than one issue)

Reached out to Steve, told me what I know already. #3 is grounded, or it's a bad switch assuming 12v at motor.

I disconnect the harness and applied 12v to #2 per the service manual. I jumped #1 and #3 to ground, low speed works. I removed #3 while #1 to ground and it's still low speed. Makes me think switch. But I test one more time, #1 and #3 connected, I apply 12v this time before I take the jumpered two terminals to ground and the wipers run (low speed) I remove #1 and the stop (no park).

As far as wiring, the motor leads can only go on one way, but the washer seems like it could be plugged in two different ways. Currently blu/wht is on left and black on right terminal.

Any help would be appreciated.

I guess I'm the only one in the community with this rare and unsolvable problem

Is this a depressed wiper or non depressed?

The #3 disconnected should have made the wiper fast.
The #3 circuit is probably grounded, whether internally at the wiper or at the switch. Look under the cover and make sure there isn't something hinky looking.
(the #3 circuit should be open for hi-speed)

Also should be a resistor there that needs to be good.

Hi John, thanks for the reply.

You mean recessed park? Yes it is.

I can pull wiper cover put I'd hope after being restored nothing is "hinky" haha...

Where is the resistor?inside the wiper motor? If I remove the switch couldn't I check continuity on each terminal to ground? Since I understand power is always at the motor/washer and ground is applied to make the circuit, seems like I could rule out the switch that way.

Under terminal connectors, under a cover probably.

I also had Steve restore my wiper/washer. Mine works as it should. Not sure about washer. I never checked it, because I'll never use it. I left my fluid bottle dry. My car stays clean.
