Rearview mirror glass
My mirror is in overall great shape but the glass inside is separating. Can a local glass shop install a new mirror? Or I thought maybe buy a repop and just replace the glass?
Thoughts or suggestions appreciated. |
From a past post, the mirror has a special design to it that allows the day/night function to work. A regular glass mirror from a shop will just be a mirror. One person here took one apart and the mirror glass is not flat, it has a bevel or thicker side to it. So, a flat mirror from a shop won't secure correctly either.

Dang it I forgot about that.
Maybe I just buy a reproduction mirror and pull out the glass. The repop ones don't have the proper authentication on them and I'd like it to be correct if possible. |
I'm the guy that took the mirror apart, the end result of the thread was that to replace just the glass on the original the most cost effective method would most likely be buying a repop and using the glass out of that.
