2x4 carb jetting
Some time ago there was discussion about different carbs and manifolds on a street motor. Someone chimed in with their experience setting up Edelbrock 600 cfm carbs with #50 primary jets and i don't recall the rods.. I did check on the Edelbrock site but was unable to find these sizes. Does anyone recall this information or can anyone direct me to this thread? Thanks in advance.

Running #50 primary jets (if you can find them?) in an E-clone would require no rods at all.

What cubic inches does your engine have. As Kenth said .050 primary jetting is way too little if you have metering rods in the thing, at least for a 389 or larger engine. FYI the 421 sd engine back then came with .089 primary jets, .070 secondary jets, and .052x.060 or very close metering rods.

For my 470/409 I used 600 Eddy carbs jetted on step leaner than factory. They made more HP than 750 Eddys on the motor. I'll see if I have specific rods and jets written down.

What I remember was 70 jets and 40 rods was a good starting point for a quad or duals with progressive linkage.

"ended up 70-47 rod and a 98 primary 92 secondary jet. "
The rods usually are listed for top size and tip size. |
As far as I know .050 jets aren't even available. I'm running .095 primary jets, .070 secondary and 73-42 rods in my edelbrock 650s. This is on the 428 in my signature.
