DSS GSX Series Pistons size question

1 Attachment(s)
Hey all,

I came across a set of new but old DSS GSX series pistons. I was told by them that they are 400 pistons and are 4.125. Are these really .005 over or are they stock 4.120 that need .005 clearance? Part number is X6001-4125.
Thanks for any info.

pistons

I'd call DSS and ask them.

Phone number is on the label.

Good luck!

Well the 4125 is in there part number right!

Even with one of those cheap digital calipers you can by in a hardware store or Harbor fright you can pick up on .005”.

If you do not have one of these to check the pistons out, then you should have had them in your toolbox anyway!

The real good thing about pistons made this way is that you take the out to a final finish of ,005” and Then a .005” over ring set will likely be a drop in with gapping work being needed.

DSS says the 4125 in the part number is the bore the piston accommodates.
