Castillian bronze birds. Post a pic

Hey. So i got some paint samples. Both supposedly castillian bronze. Both are different, and both have more brown in them than the
original paint thats on my car. Both paint reps say that their product is correct, but neither is even close to what the car wears. Fade? Age?This is even under the door panels, where the sun has never been to fade the paint. Was there a change in this paint? My car is a 70, and the color it is, i wish to keep, but i also want it correct to the car. Opinions? Thank you

generally you can find unfaded paint behind the fenders on the sides of the cowl - you might need to give it a little polish though to get it looking as it should.

Also paint colour is affected by the base coat/primer colour - many seem to forget about the red primer used, and although I cannot attest to how much that will affect the end appearance of Castillian Bronze, odds are it will have some effect.

It's been a while since it did my 70 Bronze car, but here are some pictures that might help. It's a habit of mine to leave the original paint on the sides of the cowl, just for future reference. I've included a picture of the paint code, but it's been so long I don't remember if we used PPG or DeBeers paint.

When I got this car I had no intention of repainting it the original Castillian Bronze color, I was planning on going with Atoll blue with deluxe sandalwood. however, when I pulled the fenders off and saw what the original color actually looked like, I really liked it, so I stayed with the original color. The car turned out well, and I think Castillian bronze and deluxe sandalwood is a really nice color combo. Best wishes with your project.

/\ I remember that discussion/build;
It was a great looking car.

Thanks. Yep the cowl and under the door panels are just not the same as what is supplied. I dont think primer can even make up the difference. I can, without a doubt tell that eaglesan13's car is the same color of mine. But i have standard saddle interior. Thanks for the pic and the one of the paint can.

Also by the look and the pinstripe on the can, i bet it was ppg
