Wire question

Recently bought a 69 gto, and I’m chasing down some things. I’m trying to find out what this brown wire is for. Didn’t see it on the schematic maybe the noise capacitor?

I think most GTO owners would immediately start cutting wires and taping up wires as soon as they bought these cars back in the day. Most of the 69 Gto’s I bought over the years were a wiring nightmare. Rather than start working on electrical gremlins I would go buy a new engine harness. It’s amazing what potential problems you find when this old harness is pulled out and on the driveway.

Orangegtojudge as far as under the hood that was the only wire cut and hanging out in the wind. Under the dash there is a factory am radio hanging there with nothing plugged in but that’s a project for another day.

Have a buddy with a 66 Gto and it would not start when hot or sometimes cold. We.put in a new starter and battery. Same thing. I looked under the dash and it was a nightmare. Finally talked him into new dash, console harness and engine harness. I never seen so many chopped up wires in my life. After the new harness were put in the car starts every time. .
