Any interest in an EFI section?

I believe we have some EFI pontiacs around here. It seems that it would be good to have a section to adress the specifics of EFI conversions. Thanks

Silver Judge 07-11-2011 03:33 PM

I would give a thumb's up to a section dedciated to EFI ! MFI (mechanical injection) is a good topic too

RAIV-Z 07-11-2011 04:46 PM

X2 for an EFI section.

Ollie 07-11-2011 06:47 PM

I'm in too. Lot's of Pontiac guy's posting on Protouring. net board because they have a Fuel Injection forum.

02Hawk 07-12-2011 03:45 AM

x3 for me also

machota154 07-12-2011 08:33 AM

I just installed the Fast XFI Multi port on my TA. I would like to see a EFI section.

76LQ9TA 07-12-2011 09:59 AM

thanks bryan

TA-71 07-12-2011 03:57 PM

Add me to the list

67copperbird 07-12-2011 09:58 PM

I am in for an EFI section, especially with all the intake guru's we have on the forums.

b777d 07-13-2011 03:27 PM

I have the fast system.. Would love to see an EFI section..

Silver Judge 07-13-2011 04:01 PM

I'd love to have one of the FAST systems like their EZ EFI.
If santa claus brought me some hilborn injectors, I'd give santa a big hug

roadrage david 07-14-2011 10:13 AM

X4 going EFI

BruceWilkie 07-16-2011 11:56 AM

I think its a great idea. Plenty of posts in Street/Race/Boost sections that could be compiled into one section. Some should be stickies. Who would want to moderate it???

Mr Twister 07-20-2011 11:03 AM

What does a moderator have to do exactly?

64Swede 08-08-2011 03:21 AM

An EFI section would be great since Im planning to convert my Lemans

gto406 08-08-2011 01:37 PM

+1 have a FAST EZ-EFI setup yet to go on the '72 GTO

Silver Judge 08-10-2011 05:07 PM

I would bet that there are as many people interested in fuel injection as a separate category as there are interested in Boost/Forced induction

PY Mods, how many hands need to be raised in favor of a fuel injection section in order to make it happen ?

brut4s 08-11-2011 11:27 PM

I'm in!

projectfolly 08-12-2011 03:26 PM

I have interest in an EFI section and think it would be a great resource.

b-man 08-12-2011 08:42 PM

I'll see what the forum admins have to say about a new EFI forum.

No promises, but I'll put this request in front of them.

Bart

aronhk_md 08-13-2011 04:48 PM

add me to the list. There are many technical questions on the subject, and much to be learned. I also think that more and more people will be moving in that direction. I know I want to eventually.

Bnick166 08-13-2011 07:38 PM

I'm anticipating a move in that direction as well.....

TTA850 08-13-2011 08:25 PM

I went to racing efi cars years ago and never looked back, with all the people swapping efi onto older motors and the more and more common LSX swaps an efi section makes alot of sense

krisr 08-16-2011 08:06 PM

Would be in for an EFI section.

Am running Megasquirt 3X - Full sequential fuel, full idle control, SD card datalogging, but still running modified MSD distributor to provide a cam signal and an Accel 300+ CDI for now. Have 8 x LS1 coils on standby for when I get a weekend to play :D

hgerhardt 08-19-2011 12:35 AM

Sure, why not?

02Hawk 08-21-2011 09:28 AM

Yes, I would be very interested

ClassicDriverMan 08-30-2011 04:36 PM

Yes, I would like to see it... would like to know more about all the systems out there and why those who have EFI chose the systems they have. Would be great!

rohrt 08-30-2011 04:46 PM

I would like to see one.

Silver Judge 08-30-2011 05:04 PM

So far it's unanimous
Any word on this BMAN ?
Thx
B

62 bv 08-30-2011 05:48 PM

that a great i idea

GaryK 09-02-2011 10:00 AM

I like the idea of having one too.

Gary

Moving this thread to the Pontiac - Boost forum to see if it garners any more interest, we're considering making it a part of the Boost forum.

I'm working on it guys.

Thanks. It seems like a good spot for it. Those that post in this section will be less "purist" and maybe more open to new things. Otherwise, they may migrate to other sites...

Amen - I'd spend more time here if there was a dedicated EFI section.

marks73ta 09-02-2011 09:23 PM

Very interested in an EFI section. Would like to talk to more people familiar/experiened with the Megasquirt systems. A Megasquirt may be in my future. Mark L

aronhk_md 09-02-2011 09:55 PM

Mark....shhhhh.....you'll scare your wife. LOL

coreybrenner 09-03-2011 04:16 AM

Definitely count me in for an EFI section, especially if we can discuss alternative fuels, too. I've got an interesting idea for sequential propane injection and three throttle bodies ...

X2, we will have to see what Santa brings this year. With the way things are going at work, I may have to push that to next years wish list. Either way, this forum needs some new energy. Kinda sick of reading about the same old send your Q-jet to XXXXX or cast iron manifold to XXXX and HEI to XXXX. No doubt that stuff works good to but lets bring the board into the new milenium at least.

Tom Vaught 09-03-2011 10:34 AM

I wish you luck on getting a EFI section. I asked for a "Boost Section" for 6 years with no luck. Eventually the PZ Guys created one and it was a good thing. A LOT of the PZ Guys migrated to PY when PY finally decided to do something.

I think that a "Split Section" with Boost and EFI being Equals but in the same Boost/EFI general category would be the best for now.

At The Turbo Forums, I am the MOD for the Advanced Tech Section. I pretty much run my own show there. PY is different. They have MODS looking at all sections and then they can still be over-ruled by Chris.

Let the MODS due their same job and have them look at posts binned in a EFI/ Boost portion of the Boost/EFI area IF it gets approved. Really would not care how it was labeled, just that it was added.

johnTransAm 09-03-2011 10:54 AM

I would love to have an EFI section. I just install a Megasquirt on my 78 TransAm and I can use all the help I can get.

Think you are right Tom. All they need is to add a " / EFI " on the end of "Boost" and it would be more than adequate.

I'll also add that both PY Boost and PZ's Forced Induction sections are much "calmer" than some of the others and both good examples of people trying to help one another. Far less bickering IMO.

Sadly that other site's owner thinks I've spammed them and obviously doesnt want me there pointing out flaws in his false claims or quoting his own contradictions. Others have come back to PY simply because they happen to prefer a particular cylinder head and banned from the other site for trying to say something positive about them. Sad indeed.

Ollie 09-03-2011 03:16 PM

OK, Guys,
Start posting your EFI set up and Questions.
I'll start by posting photos of my set up.
In a new thread..

Great way to get things rolling, post up those new threads guys.

Right now all we need is a title change for this forum to make it official, I'm working on getting the forum admins to pull the trigger on that.

A big ME TOO for an EFI section

2badgoat 11-01-2011 09:11 PM

i would like to see an efi section, as that is why i just registered on this forum. i will be installing a mpfi system next spring, and would like as much info and input that i can get.

Ollie 11-02-2011 09:44 AM

Welcome aboard, What EFI are you thinking of using?
What is your engine combination?

Engine-Ear 11-02-2011 09:55 AM

I would also be interested in a F/I forum that welcomes both mechanical and electrical approaches.

On the EFI side, I would like to see it go into retrofitting other OEM hardware (like a 1991 Ford 460 truck EFI system to a conventional Pontiac) as well as installing and using the aftermarket systems that are coming along.

GoatTag 11-02-2011 04:35 PM

Tripower EFI

A recent edition of Car Craft had an article about a tripower that was "converted" to EFI. It looked like a lot of work, but it also preserved that great look. If something like that was available in kit form, I'd be after one immediately.

Any ideas out there?
