PONTIAC DUDE 06-25-2008 02:06 PM

Waddaya think for a sticky. Race section. Your ride with ET & mph.

Would be nice to list in order what you car runs under each second ET group.
I know it would be a lot of work for a mod to get PM's and sort as a sticky, but................

List your best ET/MPH....60 ft'er.......... Your Name.... type vehicle.... engine size.... tire.... weight.... NA or power adder.

then do it for each second IE 6's, 7's, 8's etc, all the way to 15's.
It would be a trust deal.

Waddaya think?

WARPed 06-25-2008 02:10 PM

Yea, something like this:

Your track times

Jack Ferris 06-25-2008 02:26 PM

If it would eliminate all the BS posts from the "I have the fastest car and my engine that somebody else built made the most HP" people from the all over the board and putting that kind of stuff in one place I'd say hell ya.......

79TA455STROKED 06-25-2008 02:30 PM

Sounds good to me.
Im on another site where they have special avatars you get for whatever your car runs.
They have 8,9,10,etc avatars.
You show a timeslip and become a (8,9,etc) club member that shows up in your avatar space!

BILTIT 06-25-2008 03:28 PM

Sounds cool even though im only in the 11 sec. club.

GTOLIB 06-25-2008 06:58 PM

sounds good , do you mean that they could they be updated by the mods?

flamedabone 06-25-2008 08:52 PM

I used to have mine in my signature, but the et is just too dammn embarassing. The mph is killer, but the 60' and the et are just too shamefull to be made public.

So, if I posted my #s, do I have to fess up to everything, or just the killer mph????????

I think that a nice "add" to the post would be to also list fuel type and street driven/legal vs. track only.
Just to give a clearer idea of what type of cars we are reading about.

Ok - this is tough - as the car has never been run all out - it would flip over at the starting line - - but at 9.90
163.40 MPH
60 foot is where ever I want to be - remember - throttle stop
123 mph at the 1/8 with over 3 sec of stop on
535 IAII Tiger heads
Powerglide
4.1 rear and 33" tire
c-15 fuel
All the calculations say the car would run 8.20 at about 165 -
weight is aprox 2250

Tom Vaught 06-26-2008 09:31 PM

I ran a 11.55 at 117 in my all steel 64 GTO Convertible with a 400 engine many years ago. Hurt a lot of parts including the car to get there. Young and Foolish. Some say that is a pretty good time for a vehicle of that type with a tire that will fit under the wheel houses without mods.

I have driven a Vega that was faster than 9.40s but that was the best I did with the car. Have to admit that the Old Man (Pontiac Dude) and many others have got me covered on this topic pretty good.

Tom V.

mels80ga 06-26-2008 09:57 PM

My car is slow, but I have a lot of fun with it. It is a 1980 Grand Am, all steel-3400#. Street driven, bracket raced every Sat. in footbrake class. I drive to the track, remove the breather, let the air out of my ET Streets and race. 406 with #62 heads, pump gas, 3.73, full exhaust. 350 auto with redneck 10" 2800 converter.Ran 7.69 @88.25 with a 1.73 60' NA, and 7.15 @ 94.79 with a 1.59 60' on a 125 shot.

First time out at Grand Bend going for my license it ran 9.59@140. 6.13 in the 1/8. 1.35 60'. 1970 455, 4.25 stock crank with Ross NOS pistons and Chevy 6.8 Oliver Billet rods. Ron's 4" toilet on alcohol. Could not weigh car but think it's about 2800 with me in the seat. E-heads are non wide ports. First time with injection and alcohol so I was just playing around, LOL! It started with a 9.8 off the trailer but was very lean. Richened it up and ran 9.7. Once more and ran 9.59. My day was over and we packed up. Ran at an airport race the weekend after and I richend it up again and it ran a 6.13 with a 1.45 60'. We're going to Armdrop soon and am hopeing to run in the 9.30's-9.40's. With a little NOS added I should be in the 8's. ... Eric

My car has full interior other than front race seats, could be street driven with the exhaust bolted back on and street tires, but I have not driven on the street since I broke-in this engine in March 2006. March 2006 in street trim with full exhaust including over the rear tailpipes, 265/95 M/T street ET radials and #62 D-ports it went 11.52 @ 117 (1.66 60'). After swapping converters and removing the exhaust I was able to get a best of 10.99 @ 121.7 (1.52 60') at VMP's PIP race 19 May 2006. 1 July 2006 I swapped on a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads. I have been running the same engine combo 463/E-heads since 1 July 2006. 300+ passes on the shortblock, 200+ passes on the heads
