Sir Jack Brabham, multiple Formula One world champion driver and engineer did some work on Pontiac heads, I seem to recall. The guy leaning over the engine with the hair parted in the middle looks a heck of a lot like Jack. Could be wrong, its a bad angle.....lol. |
My favorite thread....
Great idea for a thread, Steve. I really need to scan my old pics for posting @ a time like this. Keep them coming :D .

Steve- in your post#3, the '55 Pontiac ad- I don't understand why it shows a six-cylinder and a Powerglide option. Was it an early ad that pre-dated the release of the '55 models?

Bet Winner, Yes! Kern on the left, Craig on the right. There is a Ken too, he owns it now.
Leigh, I do not think that is Jack Chrisman. After seeing these heads, I no longer think Pontiac engineering originally thought up the round port separate, center exhausts. M/T had them 6 or 7 years prior to the Ram Air II and other round ports. Back to pics. Found some more trailers. Now want to find my copy of Long, Long trailer to watch it again. Now, where is it? thanks for the encouragement everyone. Dig 'em out and get them posted. Anything old, ads, personal pics, car pics, boat pics, plane pics, vacation pics, historical pics, most anything. http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/a...ongtrailer.jpg http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/a...61_landing.jpg |
I always thought this actress from the day was hot too. Who can name her? Had a great voice too.
http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/a...kva5pbca-1.jpg How about having this next door? Heck, i would be over there helping out. Would definately double check the braking system though....IF you know what I mean. http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/a...02-15-1007.jpg |

Here is a significant picture in my life. Feb '71. 11th birthday standing in the middle of the street next to my brother in his car, a 69 GTO Judge. It was the first GTO I ever rode in and left quite an impression to say the least. It didn't get me into Pontiacs as I was into them about 3 years by that time. I am holding my birthday present, a puppy he got me for me. What did I name him? Judge. He lasted about 15 years. Good dog.
http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/MY20STR2.jpg Note this GTO Judge already wears the 'wrong' fender decal and no stripes. Brother wrecked it in 197O in the Show Low area and was towed back to the dealer in Scottsdale where he bought it. Was repaired and repainted and dealer could not get the correct decals even though it was only a 1 year or so old! Within 2 more years, that car would have a roller cammed 428, race 4OOthm and 4.88 rear gear. Plus, he pulled off the entire front clip and installed an fiberglass tilt front end on it! It was well known for doing wheelstands on Central ave in 1973/4 era. Was one of the quickest cars in the valley and definately the quickest Pontiac on the street in Phoenix. He street raced almost every night. I later bought that glass front end on my 15th birthday and still own it. |
