Pinning (cold weld, stitch, pick your vernacular) the cracks is the most dependable way to repair cast iron. It's tedious and takes some practice. I agree, unless it's a "special code", don't waste...

I've used and re-used Cometics switching blocks & heads and never coated them. Never had a problem either. Usually these are anywhere from 11:1 - 13:1 compression, n/a motors.

This is the one I use, It works good for my car, it can hold as high as 2500 RPM against the converter with it.
