Get a good seal with a metal OD and just put it in with some gray form-A- gasket and then sleep...

Little extra precaution. I would lightly de-burr the leading edge in the timing cover if it has a sharp edge. Not sure how your cover looks there. Dremel tool and cartridge roll to soften that...

+2 on the Tin Indian seals. I went through a similar issue, mine kept seeping around the crank shaft. Tin Indian was the only one that fit correctly.
