Just to add, when I did the solid flat tappet in my wife's daily driver, I used a comp solid lifter with this mod, they called an EDM hole, that shoots pressurized oil from the face of the lifters...

When doing flat tappet cams, anymore I go straight for a lifter that puts lube directly on the cam lobes. Doesn't matter if it's hydraulic or flat tappet. My opinion, it's well worth the extra...
