That's interesting. I pulled the 3.23 open rear out of my '66 GP and installed a 2.56 POSI out of a '65GP.

The pinion seal started to leak some time later and my diff guy was having difficulty...

Well I didn't know what that switch was for....I thought it had to do with the vacuum operated Tri-Power set up. Our 65 doesn't have it but its a 4spd so that would make sense... We are on our way...
