Gear change effect on convertor?

Racing season is done here in the north east, I am flirting with the idea of going from a 4.10 to a 3.90. Right now I am running a 4.10 with a 30" radial and crossing the line at 6600 at 133 with 7%...

At that HP level, that's reasonable to believe. It's just a limitation of the basic design. Which way would you design an engine that is trying to have the crankshaft pushed right out of the block...
