I've done more testing than anyone that I know of with fuel inlet seats, solid, windowed, 4 hole, etc.

The solid seat was introduced to help prevent drain back, as the fuel evaporated and the clip...

Is there evidence of trash getting buy the filter. I like a big inline before the pump.

Agree that the float is to high. I would drop it by another 1/8 or 3/16

Hook up a gauge and check...

3/16'' is too high for float setting, IMO... i use 1/4 to 9/32 , as my float setting... and that is a 750 1971 Buick carb... Your pump could be problematic, but, still think float is too high......
